Dr. Abeer Alshammari

Founder of CyberAbeer, GreenTrust AI, and CyberAbeer Labs

Dr. Abeer Alshammari is a cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) practitioner with more than 20 years of experience building and maturing enterprise security programs.

Her work spans cybersecurity policy and control frameworks, risk assessment across application, infrastructure, cloud, data, and third-party domains, and coordinating internal and external audits. She founded CyberAbeer to bring that same practitioner discipline to AI governance, through GreenTrust AI, and to security education, through CyberAbeer Labs.

  1. 2023 to present

    Senior Cybersecurity GRC Specialist

    Leads and matures an enterprise cybersecurity GRC program across a multi-subsidiary organization, sets policy and control frameworks, oversees risk assessments across application, infrastructure, cloud, data, and third-party domains, and coordinates internal and external audits.

  2. 2019 to 2022

    Cybersecurity GRC Program and Team Lead

    Built an enterprise GRC program from the ground up, including governance frameworks, a full policy suite, and audit-ready processes, while leading and developing a risk and compliance team.

  3. 2003 to 2018

    Cybersecurity Engineer, Security, Risk and Compliance

    Implemented security controls and supported risk assessments, audits, and remediation across mission-critical government systems.
